1. The Morning Arrival Crisis: RFID & Biometric Edge Ingestion

During morning drop-off hours, over 3,000 students enter a single campus within a 20-minute window. Standard web APIs hit database lock timeouts when thousands of attendance records arrive simultaneously. To solve this, we implemented an edge-gateway architecture:

Biometric/RFID Edge Hubs: Local campus controllers scan student RFID badges or fingerprint sensors offline and buffer punches locally. Redis Stream Ingestion: Punch data is streamed asynchronously to our cloud Redis cluster, capable of processing up to 10,000 concurrent writes per second. Instant Parent Notifications: As soon as a punch is validated, an automated background job dispatches a WhatsApp and SMS alert to parents confirming their child’s safe campus arrival.

2. Dynamic Fee Matrix & Automated UPI Reconciliation

School fee structures are notoriously complicated—varying by grade, transportation routes, sibling discounts, and late-fee penalties. School OPS introduces a flexible rules engine combined with direct UPI gateway integrations:

Automated Dynamic Fee Ledger: Parents receive personalized payment links via WhatsApp containing exact breakdown items (Tuition, Transport, Lab fees). Instant Webhook Settlement: Upon successful UPI payment, webhooks instantly mark student accounts clean, generate a digitally signed GST receipt, and update financial ledgers in real time. 45% Reduction in Default Rates: Automated payment reminders and one-click UPI checkout reduced fee collection delays by 45% across partner schools.
